I saw people on Chapman's Pond ice fishing today! I don't know how thick the ice is, but it must be relatively safe if there were guys out there.

I saw that too! I guess if you were to fall through at Chapman's you probably wouldn't even get your belt wet.

Saw them on meadowbrook too and the ice looks awfully black

From what I could see, the ice at Chapmans was gray already. But I was looking at it from the road, as I drove by.

As for Meadowbrook, that pond and Locustville are the first ones in this area to freeze safely.

There was some guys out there this morning that i  would classify as insane!

There was a lot of open water near the ramp and they were setup awfully close to it Shocked

everytime you think there is going to finally be a chance to get out on some ice around north kingstown a warm front comes in and crushes any of my hopes and dreams of pullin a nice bass through the ice

Yeah....it's almost february with no cold blasts in the future forecast.   I like to set up a few tilts every year but there is a bright side.

Only a few more weeks and i  can pull the tarp off the boat and start spring preps  Grin
