Stripers
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:35:48 PM »
The striper fishing is awsome this year. Capt. Don says it's the best in the last 20 years. I would have to agree.

Went out on Tuesday afternoon in the Pawcatuck River and snagged some bunker. ( so many in the river that you could walk across on them!) Left at 5pm on Tues. PM for th Wicopesett. Within the 1st hour I had a 33" and a 36" striper in the boat, as well as many blue fish. For the next 3 hrs caught and released several bass and many more bluefish. All were caught on either live bunker or chunks, drifted back over the reef.

The weather was perfect, no wind, warm, beautiful moon , and flat as glass.

By the time I got home after cleaning the fish and washing down the boat it was after midnight.

Really an awesome night. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Bob,

I forgot my camera on my boat. I could take some now but frozen fillets are not that exciting.
