Question, can I field my own team in these events. or is there going to be a draw?  I didnt see anything about a draw, thats why I'm asking.

Let it snow, let it snow.

It is a team trail with your partner. It is also the TBFRI (The Bass Federation of Rhode Island which is the FLW Federation) You need to join FLW Outdoors and the TBFRI. 18.00 to FLW + 25.00 to TBFRI.

I don't expect a full field, membership is still low since the split up bertween BASS and the federeation.

Then I guess it is not a open trail. By having to join a membership, would mean that this is not in the title a "open trail". It is however the TBFofRI Trail. Not trying to brake stones, just don' t like it when people call a trail open as long as you are a memeber.

Dennis, you're absolutely right. Any tournament or trail that requires any type of membership or other paid prerequisite isn't an open tournament or trail.

Guys I may have opened up my mouth or key board too soon,  I remember hearing something about it being open to all, due to low membership or something to that effect. I"ll check into it and get back to you all.

Good Evening All,

So am I to understand that the FLW is completly different then the TBF?

Just trying to understand the lay of the land as it has been some 12 years since I have fished in any competive event.

TBF and BASS/ESPN had a falling out two years back and a majority of BASS/TBF members left, the TBF joined up with FLW so now there is two Federations BASS/Federation Nation and the FLW/The Bass Federation

Here in RI, the majority stayed with BASS but most of the other states moved over to FLW. BASS lost about 2/3 of it's federation members the first year in the split up. It's membership is now growing slowly, but BASS/ESPN is still upsetting it's membership with their constant changes, dropping BASS Weekend Series and licensing it  to the ABA.

Just talked to Craig, And YOU DON"T NEED A MEMBERSHIP. You can fish any or all tournaments at $125.00 each, if you don't pay the lockin fee you can't go to the TOC which is funded by the lockin fee. The TOC is an invitational  to the top 15 teams in the standings at the end of the trail with no entry fees. The Trail is still sanctioned by the FWL/TBF and insured.

You do need to sign up prior to the tournament dates because most lakes have a permit limit of 35-40 boats.

Sorry for the confusion I caused.

Thanks for your help Frank. Sorry I didn't reply my self but my CPU has been down the trail is open to any angler 16 years of age or older there is no draw you field your own team pre entrees are preferred but not required you can pay at the ramp but it will be first come first serve and you must have a copy of your insurance binder minimum 100,000 coverage.
You can lock in for all Tournaments for a chance to qualify for the TOC or fish each one as an open it your choice.
